Cool matte Thomas!
I like the colors of the first one, looks a bit cartoon for me, but you did a good job
The second one one only critique is that you can see 3 elements :
-the background
-mid distance background (the houses)
-first term bacground the passageway
maybe if you match more the colors you will have more depth in your painting.
And the last think is that you can see the photograph parts and the painted parts easly.
Hope you help with this constructive words mate

good work. the first one is great.
i think pere is right about the second one. check this tutorial out if you havent seen it before:

about half way down is a really interesting bit about creating visual contrast (through either colour, tone, or detail based contrast)
It might help you improve how the painting reads: at the moment the viewers attention is not quite drawn in to the centre because of the detail at the right hand side: its more visually interesting at the right than in the middle. with a bit of reworking i think you could really draw the viewer into the domed building. lovely composition btw: nice work.

ps, i thuink that the line of trees also lets the rest of it down: i would consider reworking them to make them a biy more naturalistic.

thanks guys. You are both right. I made these as concepts, just to play around and find some ideas. As i am lazy, i don't think i will rework them, i just keep them to learn each time a little bit more and do better for the new ones. I agree that the viewer attention is attracted too much to the right, i should have croped it and extend the right part. Ahhhh, maybe i will do it. I am just doing some new one now and i am not realy interested by these one anymore. Will see. Thanks anyway for the comment.
